Cambridge-based startup Healthera built an app that allows patients to request, track, and manage repeat prescriptions in just a few clicks.

Project description

Due to the growing crisis of chronic diseases, 80% of all prescriptions in the UK are refills. Knowing that it takes an average of ten days and a few trips between GP and pharmacy to get your medicine, Healthera turned to iTechArt to accelerate their innovation and product development. Our cross-functional team started by creating a solid refinement plan that included code refactoring, redesign of the mobile app architecture, and development of the QA automation framework from the ground up.

Next, we set up containerised infrastructure to empower the client to deliver high-quality code faster and at scale. We also addressed the latest mobile accessibility requirements to ensure the best-in-class UX and improve customer retention.

Finally, our engineers enhanced the geo-based search, allowing for same-day drug delivery and making Healthera’s pharma supply chain much more resilient — which is of utmost importance in times of pandemic.

Results

It took more than 20 years for e-pharmacies to reach two percent of the market share; for Healthera, it took only two years to build the first-ever local supply network for prescriptions and scale from 40 to 1,500 pharmacy partners — that’s ten percent of the entire UK market!

Going forward, we’re proud to say our continuous enhancement framework will easily scale to support the company in delivering cutting-edge pharmaceutical services to 30M adults across the United Kingdom.
