ClassPass is a membership program that offers users credits to book in-studio classes and visits, beauty and spa appointments, and on-demand exercise classes.
Back in 2013, ClassPass launched with an ambitious goal of bringing the world’s best workouts to users through in-app bookings. With support from the incubator Techstars, ClassPass partnered with iTechArt to bring its vision to life.
The first step augmented ClassPass’s existing in-house team because the scope of work far exceeded its resources and expertise, plus the company needed to move fast — building their engineering team one person at a time was a luxury they couldn’t afford. With iTechArt by their side, they could tap the expertise of 35 vetted, best-in-class developers in two months.
During this critical time, our team worked in lockstep with ClassPass to build feature-rich iOS and Android apps from the ground up. iTechArt engineers were also key to the development of a venue portal and an admin panel that streamlined user and studio management.
Our developers also set up a CI/CD pipeline for internal services that, paired with DevOps best practices, paved the way for ClassPass to expand into 30 countries and offer classes from more than 40,000 studios worldwide.
Backed by iTechArt from Series A to Series E and beyond, ClassPass not only ascended as an industry frontrunner and the world's largest fitness network, but also the first unicorn of the decade to achieve a $1B valuation.
Today, we continue to support them, currently in the form of a complete UX redesign and implementation of best QA practices — so that they can keep their eye on the ball and continue to change the game for us all.
