heycater! is Europe’s first marketplace for ordering high-quality business catering and organizing onsite, offsite, and virtual corporate events.
Catering to the highest expectations of renowned clients like Dell, eBay, and Hellofresh, heycater! knew an external engineering partner would be a vital ingredient in scaling its platform. Struggling to find the required talent locally, they needed to ramp up their dev team fast — and iTechArt was up to the challenge.
Three of our engineers jumped in immediately to elevate heycater!’s internal data management systems. In particular, we added new tags to organize the company’s data in a more personalized way, as well as revamped its CRM’s integration with one of the world's leading messaging platforms — to help streamline client communication. In parallel, we were able to improve backend performance by processing events in bulk.
On the frontend side, our team implemented a stable and scalable architecture for inventory management and offer creation modules. Next, we configured reliable language localization functionality and introduced designs that work seamlessly across all desktop and mobile browsers — all to ensure a more inclusive and consistent user experience.
Our partnership also involved code refactoring and end-to-end test automation, which allowed heycater! to boost product quality and speed up time to market while driving down costs.
By introducing daily retrospective meetings and more complex task descriptions, we helped heycater! refine cross-team collaboration, baking efficiency into every stage of the project management process. And most importantly, the new tech capabilities enabled the company to sharpen its competitive edge and provide better catering for more than 3,500 clients in 30 cities across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
